Daniel Blendulf

Cello
Born in Sweden, Daniel Blendulf studied cello with Torleif Thedéen at the Edsberg Music Institute in Stockholm and completed his studies with Heinrich Schiff at the University of the Arts in Vienna. In 2006 he became an "ECHO Rising Star" and has performed in numerous major concert halls in Europe as well as in New York's Carnegie Hall. As a soloist, he has performed with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Jesús López Cobos and Andrew Manze. He was a member of the Zkvartett String Quartet, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Claudio Abbado.

His chamber music partners include Amihai Grosz, Janine Jansen, Denis Kozhukhin, among others. In the coming season he will perform at the Verbier Festival, Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, Røros Festival and the Sion Festival.

Further chamber music projects are planned at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Luxembourg Philharmonie and London's Wigmore Hall, among others.

As a conductor, Daniel Blendulf has already worked with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the Camerata Salzburg and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He was chief conductor of the Dalasinfoniettan.
