Swedish musician Daniel Blendulf studied the cello with Torleif Thedéen and Heinrich Schiff. In 2006 he was nominated “ECHO Rising Star” and subsequently toured major concert venues across Europe as well as New York’s Carnegie Hall. As a soloist he has performed with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Robin Ticciati and V. Petrenko. He was a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Claudio Abbado.
His chamber music partners include Timothy Ridout, Amihai Grosz, Janine Jansen, and Denis Kozhukhin, among others. This season Daniel performs at festivals including the Verbier Festival, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht, Sion Festival and Beare’s Festival London.
As a conductor Daniel Blendulf has worked with most major Scandinavian orchestras, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony, Camerata Salzburg, Queensland Symphony Orchestra; and he was chief conductor of Dalasinfoniettan. At the Royal Opera in Stockholm he conducted Carmen, Don Pasquale and premiered Karolinas sömn by Anders Eliasson. He conducted Wozzeck at Norrlandsoperan.
Daniel Blendulf plays on a cello made by Vincenzo Panormo in 1791 acquired through the “Beare’s International Violin Society”.
